About the role
You will be a part of Kraken’s growing Operations team who are responsible for the production lifecycle of our innovative vessels. You will work closely with the Material and Production teams to facilitate efficient movement and storage of goods and vessels. You will be an integral part of the team that maintains high standards around our production facilities.
What you'll be doing
- Maintaining standards around the yard and workshop:
- including how vessels are stored/positioned safely and in accordance with build cycle
- Keeping our yards and workshop clean and tidy
- Responsible for safe movement of goods and vessels
- Managing the waste streams including collection/delivery
- Facilitating yard movements
- General maintenance around the yard/workshop including construction of staging, racking, stillages and cradles.
- Overseeing crane / HiAB operations in the yard and that they are conducted safely
- Transportation of vessels to/from our sites, suppliers and possibly demonstrations.
- Assistance in Stores where required, including kitting of parts to Production, Goods Inwards, offloading deliveries
What we're looking for
- Ability to fulfil the driving requirements of the role
- Ability to operate a 3T and 7T forklift (re-training may be available for the appropriate candidate)
- Ability to tow vessels or have previous experience of towing trailers in excess of 7m
- Experience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Must be self-motivated and be willing respond to dynamic situations around the workshop throughout the day
Desirable experience
- Previous experience in a yard operator role
- Experience in the marine industry preferable
