About the role

We’re looking for a hands-on and reliable Mechanical Technician to support the safe and efficient delivery of mechanical work across our operations.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintenance, installation and project work, ensuring all tasks are completed to a high standard of safety, quality and efficiency. You’ll work closely with multiple teams to support day-to-day operations and help minimise downtime across systems and equipment.

What you'll be doing

  • Carry out hands-on mechanical work including maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting and installations
  • Complete work orders and project tasks in a timely and efficient manner
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems
  • Ensure all work complies with mechanical codes, safety regulations and company policies
  • Maintain a safe working environment and follow all health and safety requirements
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues to minimise downtime
  • Support continuous improvement through effective troubleshooting and repair
  • Work closely with electrical, operations, safety and quality teams on cross-functional tasks
  • Support and mentor team members where required, providing technical guidance
  • Accurately record work completed, parts used and time spent
  • Maintain clear and organised records to support operational tracking

What we're looking for

  • Relevant and recent production experience within the marine industry
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines
  • Good understanding of mechanical systems, tools and standards
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics
  • Practical, hands-on approach to engineering work

Desirable experience

  • HNC / HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and best practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
