About the role

The Facilities Manager is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of all company premises, infrastructure, and support services. The role combines day-to-day operational management to deliver a secure, functional, and efficient working environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead the day-to-day responsibility of all facilities services, including maintenance, security, cleaning, and utilities.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all facilities-related issues across the organisation.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, fire, and environmental requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation controls.
  • Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities across sites.
  • Manage the facilities OPEX/CAPEX budgets.
  • Track and report on operational costs, identifying efficiencies and savings.
  • Oversee asset lifecycle management and equipment audits.
  • Deliver refurbishment, office moves, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of reception and front-of-house services.
  • Support space planning and workplace optimisation initiatives.

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience managing facilities in a multi-site or operational environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of building systems and infrastructure.
  • Experience managing contractors, procurement, and service delivery.
  • Knowledge of UK regulatory environment (H&S, fire, compliance).
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and respond to operational issues quickly.
  • Experience working in defence, regulated and/or high-security environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Desirable experience

  • Experience managing front-of-house or reception services within a corporate or secure environment
  • Working knowledge of space planning tools such as AutoCAD
  • Experience supporting audits, inspections, or regulatory compliance activities
  • Exposure to multi-site or complex operational environments
