About the role
The Design Engineer is a key role within the Design Engineering function, responsible for the development and delivery of robust, manufacturable engineering solutions for advanced marine platforms.
This role sits at Mid level and is responsible for independently delivering defined design scopes across concept, detailed design, and production phases. The role involves the creation of 3D models, engineering drawings, and associated technical documentation, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, integration requirements, and production constraints.
Working within a multidisciplinary engineering environment, the role supports the development of integrated mechanical, structural, and systems solutions, contributing directly to product performance, buildability, and programme delivery. The role requires strong engineering judgement, practical problem-solving ability, and the capacity to balance technical requirements with cost, schedule, and manufacturing considerations.
The Design Engineer is expected to work independently within defined scope, while collaborating closely with senior engineers and discipline leads to ensure alignment with overall design intent and project objectives.
