Kraken Technology Group’s expertise and management team have origins in the renowned Jaguar Vector Racing Team, formerly Vector Martini Racing. An offshore endurance racing and powerboat engineering team with a decade-long record of developing progressive, technologically-advanced, high-performance, disruptive boats capable of pushing the boundaries in the toughest of conditions.
The Team set multiple World Endurance Records, with back to back wins in the infamous Cowes Torquay Cowes race (including the fastest course time ever set) and were twice British Champions. Several Team members are also holders of the K7 Club having set records in excess of 100mph.
Each Vector designed boat combined technological innovation and integration with high-quality materials and workmanship to deliver iconic craft with real-world performance and delivery in both the traditional and electric powertrain applications. These expertise, combined with a growing opportunity to develop original technology and platforms in the defence sector are the foundations upon which Kraken Technology Group was established.
The MV-1 was an experimental prototype commissioned by a defence contractor as a test platform for the integration of unmanned control technologies in high-speed application. A unique ‘ground-up design with a bespoke control system technology, the MV-1 become the world’s fastest remotely operated USV reaching speeds in excess of 75mph, a record which still stands today.
A technology showcase in conjunction with Jaguar Land Rover and Williams Advanced Engineering, the V20 delivered a zero-emission electrified powertrain which successfully led to the breaking the UIM Official Outright Electric-powered Water Speed Record which to this day remains unsurpassed at 88.61mph on Lake Coniston in the UK.
Vector Racing partnered with some of the world’s most iconic brands, including a title partnership with Martini and broader relationships with Porsche, Jaguar Land Rover, Williams Advanced Engineering, Henri Lloyd and Ubisoft. Collectively, these partnerships included a unique customer experience programme allowing passengers to experience 100mph on water, record-breaking electric powertrain development, brand marketing initiatives and even the world’s first inclusion in gaming for next-generation aspiring powerboat racers.
